This Tri-Hone Sharpening Kit includes Silicon Carbide, Soft Arkansas stone, Hard Arkansas stone and a 1 ounce bottle of honing oil. Silicon Carbide is the fastest cutting oil stone which makes them ideal for the initial coarse sharpening. The Soft Arkansas is a coarse stone as well but is slightly less coarse than the silicon carbide. Using a coarse stone is the fastest way to get a good shape on an edge. The Hard Arkansas is a finer stone which is used to refine the edge, improving the quality of the cut it delivers. The Case honing oil is designed for use with sharpening stones while sharpening. Only a very little dab is needed when sharpening so the oil will last you a while. This sharpening kit comes shrink wrapped. Made in Bradford, PA, USA from domestic and imported materials.
